In October 1970, Senator Mary Robinson announced at a public meeting of a group made up of medical practitioners and concerned citizens called the Irish Family Planning Association that she intended to introduce a private member’s bill in the Irish Senate to repeal the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 1935, the act that banned contraceptives. The liberal Irish Times immediately endorsed Robinson’s position in an editorial, but the general Catholic stance was startling in its vehement opposition. Nothing epitomized that vehemence better than the response of Dublin’s Archbishop John Charles McQuaid, who proclaimed in a letter that was read aloud at every Sunday Mass in every church in his archdiocese, that decriminalizing the sale of contraceptives “would be, and would remain, a curse upon our country.”
 
Archbishop John Charles McQuaid was right. Compounded by the 2018 referendum which removed the ban on abortion from the Irish constitution, the curse on Ireland is now obvious to everyone. An alien invasion is punishing Ireland for murdering its own children; it threatens to replace the Irish people with those more amenable to having children. This invasion is being weaponized, but Ireland stands by helplessly because it has lost its identity and can’t identify the enemy, much less propose an effective strategy against him
