    "I entered this campaign with the desire to leave a positive impact on our community. Running as an Independent without strong name recognition, I had no illusions of winning against my political rivals.

I was, however, able to use my run at office to secure short term employment for several students and members of the Oakville community in financial need, and from that standpoint, the campaign was a real success.

    I would like to extend my congratulations to the leading contenders as well as my gratitude to my fellow Oakville residents who signed my nomination papers and gave me the opportunity partake in Canada's democratic tradition. I would also like to thank my family who stood by my side and supported me during the past few weeks as I focused almost exclusively on getting the message out.

​    Finally, a thank you to Oakville's voters who came out to exercise their democratic right to choose their future. Many have died fighting to secure and defend our democratic rights and freedoms; exercising our right to vote demonstrates a continued respect for their sacrifice."
