Preserving Catholic Values
I believe in the preservation of Catholic values and a refocusing of the board's priorities on academic achievement free of political interference and demagoguery. The right to a Catholic education is enshrined in Canada's constitution and as Trustees it is our obligation to the families to ensure that their values continue to be taught in our schools.

Academic Excellence
Education must prepare our students to succeed in an ever-changing and complex world. I believe that a strong focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are important ingredients in that success. I also believe that History, the Arts (Music, Drama, Visual Arts and Dance) as well as the study of Foreign Languages, Competitive Sports and Community Service are all part of a well-rounded education.

Respecting Parents' Rights
Parents are the primary educators of their children. Our schools are meant to play a supportive role and enable teachers to impart their academic expertise while ensuring that the parents' Catholic values are respected and integrated into the academic curriculum.

Fiscal Responsibility
I believe that the HCDSB has a fiduciary responsibility to the taxpayer. The board's 2026 budget exceeded $500M, comparable to many large corporations. The taxpayers have a right to know if their funds are being spent in a manner that maximizes the benefits to the students and I will support initiatives that would result in greater transparency and fiscal accountability.

Freedom to Learn
Free speech, the ability to share one’s views and engage in constructive dialogue are the cornerstone of a viable democracy. Students in our schools should be secure in the knowledge that educators will stand by them when they express their Catholic values and ensure an environment free of bullying, harassment and other forms of intimidation.

Community Engagement
Involvement in one's community and a concern for the well-being of others builds character. A substantial body of literature documents the positive impact of parents, family and community engagement on student achievement. I will support initiatives that facilitate student community engagement and align with the values and teachings of our faith.
